My experience of e-aupairs is of a friendly, human, "hands on" agency. I like Elaine's personal involvement and her true interest in getting the right au pair for the family. She did not waste our time with passing us candidates which would not have been suitable for us as a family. I found her very reliable and easy going. I write to thank you for all your help in finding me such a wonderful au pair and for your ongoing interest in our welfare.
I moved to Loxwood about a year ago with my husband and two small children, and thought that finding an au pair who wanted to live in a small Sussex Village would be near-on impossible.
I was proved wrong when I found out about your company. Being based close by I knew that you would be able to promote the area and would know about the local facilities and schooling for the au pairs.
I was very impressed when you offered to come to meet myself and the children and to look at the accommodation for the au pair, being able to give me advice on what an au pair would require from us and what we could expect from her. You were like a breath of fresh air and gave me total confidence in your company.
At the time there were only two au pairs whom you suggested may be suitable for us, and I was grateful not to be bombarded by details of any old 'Tom, Dick or Harry' (or the foreign equivalent!). We picked the girl we preferred, and after speaking to her several times we decided she was the one. You kindly spoke to her as well and, by you having met us, you could clearly explain about our family and her accommodation so there would not be any misunderstanding on her arrival.
Once our au pair had arrived in the UK you arranged to meet her so that, if she had any questions, she was able to put a face to a name, and also know that you were there for her as well as us. I know our au pair was most grateful for this and pleased to meet you after her initial telephone conversations with you. She was also extremely grateful for the local information you provided her with.
I must express my thanks for all your help, both at the beginning and during our au pair's stay with us. She has made a huge difference to our lives, and she now feels like part of the family. Not only does she keep the house extremely clean and tidy, do the ironing, baby-sit a couple of times a week, but first and foremost, she has proved to be an excellent carer for the children. I have total confidence in leaving them with her whilst I am working, and she also enjoys playing with them on a day-to-day basis whilst I am at home. I can now go to the gym when I want, decorate the house without the threat of paint being split everywhere, and even prepare a meal for a dinner party in peace! We are even taking her on our family holiday so that my husband and I can also have a 'holiday'. She is great fun, full of energy, and kind and loving towards the children.
I do also think about what we can give the au pair - new experiences, help in improving their use of the English language, new hopes and confidence, and, hopefully, an English family how will be in touch with them for a long time ahead.
I know that she will, unfortunately, not be with us forever, but I do feel assured that you will be able to find her replacement when the time comes for her to leave. I don't know how I used to cope before she came along - having an au pair is certainly addictive!!
