We have listed below some hints on what to include in your family letter, about yourself and from your referees when writing references:

about yourself
Please write your letter in English and in your own handwriting.To include:
- Your name, address and telephone number in capital letters
- Your personality, interests, hobbies and ambitions
- Your parents occupation and if you have any brothers/sisters
- Explain where you live
- Your education
- Childcare experience
- Have you been working, if so, where and for how long
- Why you want to be an au pair - your hopes, wishes,
- Plans for the future
- Please remember to sign and date the letter
the following may help when you ask for a reference
Please ask the referee (reference writer) to write in capital letters. To include:
- Name, address and telephone number of referee (reference writer)
- Duties undertaken by the au pair
- Why he/she is suitable to be an au pair
- How well he/she works
- How you know the au pair
- How long you have known the au pair
- Please ask the referee to sign and date the reference.
