au pair duties
An au pair's main responsibility is to help with children. This may include:
- Taking and picking up from nursery/school
- Simple cooking for children
- Bathing children and putting them to bed
- Playing with the children (e.g. swimming, games, reading etc)
Helping alongside the family with light household duties. This may include:
- Ironing
- Hovering,
- Washing up
- Dusting,
- Cooking simple meals for the family
- General tidying etc.

au pair
An au pair works up to 25 hours per week, usually 5 hours per day, plus 2 evenings a week babysitting.
Pocket Money: minimum £65 per week is recommended
au pair plus (eu applicants only)
An au pair plus works a minimum of 25 hours per week but no more than 35 hours per week plus 3-4 evenings babysitting. Usually 6 - 8 hours per day.
Pocket Money: minimum £85 per week is recommended
